Free portal DLC coming to Rocket League tomorrow
Rejoice all Rocket League players!
Rocket League has been getting some excellent crossover content with other games ever since its release (at least the PC version), and that continues tomorrow when the game gets free Portal themed DLC.
Importantly, even if a player wins or loses a game on “Rocket League”, they will get access to the free items offered from “Portal”, but they just have to make sure that they finish a game.
The items are given out randomly, but with just playing the games and matches continuously, it shouldn’t be that hard to collect all of the Aperture Science Enrichment Center themed items within the game.
The Chaos Run DLC includes a badass dose of all-new goodies, including two new Battle-Cars (Ripper and Grog), 12 new Decals (six for each new vehicle), and several new Paint Types, Wheels, Rocket Trails, Toppers, and Antennas. The developers have also revealed that players simply have to play matches in order to acquire the new items.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Rocket League’s terminology, a topper is a hat for the cars, a rocket trail is the colourful stream that comes out of the cars’ exhausts, and antenna ornaments are little flags. There’s also a patch to usher in the DLC, which replaces the main menu theme and setting, and removes Timewarp and Beach Ball from the Mutator Mashup playlist, among other things.
