Free update for Rock Band 4 releases next month
Rock Band 4’s first major update is coming soon and now developer Harmonix has provided an overview for what fans can expect from it. A post on the company’s website reveals that the update, which launches December 8, will add new features, fix bugs, and more. Rock Band 4 builds on the core gameplay people love, with brand new features, including game-changing Freestyle Guitar Solo gameplay that allows players to craft their own face-melting and truly original guitar solos.
Activity feed: This is a main menu log of your leaderboard events and that also allows you to quickly jump to a track to regain your dominance. It focuses mostly on competitive and social features, including an entirely new online competitive system called “Score Challenges” which utilizes a live activity feed that shows users what their friends are playing, and allows them to compete with each other for high scores on songs. Struggling drummers may also be happy to learn the update adds an “auto-kick” mode, a much-requested feature where the computer plays all kick drum notes for you, meaning you only have to play the drum pad parts. Full combo recognition and indicator will keep track of flawless streaks and an in-song indicator will let them know if they have broken their streak or if they are still on track for a full combo. Harmonix is also promising a new game mode that we’ll be hearing about as we close in on the day, and lest something’s changed since last month, 12/8’s also the day you can import tracks from “Rock Band 3” into the game. According to him, it’ll be available “on or around December 8;” He says that “It can sometimes vary by a couple of days based on first party submission dependencies”.
Called “the new benchmark for rhythm gaming” by GamesRadar+, Rock Band 4 delivers the ecstatic rush of a live full-band game experience like never before.

Leaderboards no longer mix player scores and percentages from different performances and instead show only the info for the single performance with the highest score. Improvements to microphone lag and tambourine sensitivity are two of the more remarkable examples.
We are planning for monthly updates of varying sizes – a few of these updates will contain bug fixes and performance improvements, others will include new features. Rock Band 4 developed by Harmonix Music Systems, Inc. What do you NOT like?
