Friendly’s Celebrates Chain’s Birthday, National Ice Cream Day with Discount
Today, the 7-day course in “cow-to-cone” ice cream science is offered annually in January, with about 130 students from all over the world attending more than 20 workshops on specialized areas of ice cream technology – including flavoring, refrigeration, freezing and hardening techniques, and the manufacture of frozen yogurt and novelty frozen desserts.
For those who have not been to Royal Scoop’s Bonita Springs headquarters, you should go, the banana split is like a giant, delicious ice cream vitamin, and the sundaes, well, lets just say they’ll have you breaking whatever diet you happen to be on.
This Sunday, July 19 two of our favorite local ice cream shops are offering deals and discounts to customers in celebration of this national day of ice cream.
The promotion takes place at restaurants throughout New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and South Carolina.
Carvel: All day long on Sunday, soft-serve cones are available on a buy-one-get-one-free basis-any size and flavor you want. No purchase required. The National Ice Cream Day flavor, which is made with Queen Creek Olive Mill’s Meyer Lemon Olive Oil, will only be available from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Show your Lyft receipt to participating ice cream shops in Atlanta, Austin, Brooklyn, Miami, San Francisco, and other cities, and you’ll get a free scoop. The contest, in honor of National Ice Cream Month in July, runs from July 15 to 30.
