Friends Day: Facebook invents its own holiday
The video is a collection of some of the most memorable pics of users and their friends that Facebook is compiling for all its users that one can share with friends.
Much like the company’s end-of-year personalized videos that show a user’s greatest moments from the past year, Friend’s Day videos show a user their algorithm-picked best moments with friends that you’ve shared on Facebook. It’ll not only appear at the top of your friend’s News Feed and there will be a link to encourage them to create their own.

Typical Facebook users are now 3.57 degrees apart, said the company, as opposed to 3.74 degrees of separation in 2011.
The video features a photo of the users and their friends.
Using data from its 1.59 billion users, statistical algorithms were used to estimate the number of unique users whose “friends” did not overlap and the distance between the different users.
“Each year we recognize this day as Friends Day and invite the world to celebrate and reflect on the importance of connecting”, Facebook’s announcement said. People can also see their Friends Day video by clicking “Watch Yours” below a friend’s Friends Day video.
The collages on Facebook will be packaged in video presentations of photos of friends and family that have been previously been posted to the website. It means that you can edit anything you don’t want before sharing it with your friends.
There are also two new friendship-themed sticker packages available, which can be sent to other users via Facebook’s Messenger app. I, apparently, am slightly more connected than some, with an average degree of separation of 3.22 people. “Sometimes friendship moves the world”, the 31-year-old billionaire posted.
