Frozen car near Lake Erie now a tourist attraction
The owner of this auto is going to need more than a scraper to remove the sheet of ice that wrapped itself around the vehicle after it was parked by Lake Eeerie in NY.
The big freeze took place as water from Lake Erie spilled over ground in Buffalo, enveloping the auto and turning it into a giant icicle.
The National Weather Service said the initial lake-effect storm that struck from November 17-19, 2014 dumped about six and half feet of snow on south Cheektowaga and more than five feet on Buffalo.
A tv station there spotted a auto completely encased in ice! “You could see what was once a mirror, you can see there’s a spoiler at the back”.
The weird event came as the area was hit with several inches of snow in the past 24 hours – forcing the closure of several schools. He noted on Twitter that his crew members’ coats have become stuck to their bodies at times, and that one of the city’s plows had got stuck in the snow.
