Funeral to be held for Colorado trooper killed by driver
Gov. John Hickenlooper on Friday ordered flags be lowered to half-staff Monday in memory of a Colorado state trooper who was killed in an accident.
A procession will begin about 9:30 a.m. from the Schaefer Athletic Complex (9750 W. Hampden Ave.) to the Denver First Church of the Nazarene (3501 S. Colorado Blvd.).
A funeral will be held for a Colorado State Patrol trooper allegedly killed by a retired Army colonel who was drinking and driving.
Jursevics joined the Colorado State Patrol in January 2011.
The post shows the 8-month-old girl surrounded by items from her late mother’s uniform with the caption: “For anyone who is planning on just having a “few beers” and driving home after, look at this little girl”.
Jursevics was born in Burke, South Dakota and raised in Rapid City. “Upon graduation from the Colorado State Patrol academy, she was assigned to the Patrol’s Vail post”. “She was tenacious in the pursuit of justice and keeping others safe”.
“She was a ball of fire, she was a go-getter, she was a hard worker, she was a friend and to all of us she was a sister”, said Master Sgt. Shawn Olmstead.
