Fury open to Joshua fight
Today’s event in London followed on from the first German presser and began with Fury asking if anyone in attendance thought he was going to lose to Klitschko, and that if they did then they should stand up and be counted.
Tyson Fury helped stage one of the most freaky sporting press conferences of all time when he appeared dressed as Batman.
And he made sure he made an impression on his rival, turning up to London’s Hilton Syon Park Hotel as the Caped Crusader. Fury then pointed at the heavyweight champion and let him know he would be suffering the same fate as the comic book villain.
“This is the most entertaining press conference I have been to”, Klitschko said.
Klitschko will defend his IBF, WBO, IBO and WBA heavyweight titles against the unbeaten Fury in Dusseldorf on October 24.
Tyson Fury turned up for his head-to-head press conference with Wladimir Klitschko dressed as Batman – before vowing to end the Ukrainian’s heavyweight rule. “I can not wait. Welcome to my city, welcome to my town, United Kingdom baby”.
Fury also had a word to say on former two-weight world title holder David Haye, who is set to announce his return to boxing in the near future. Well I have a new job for you, buddy. “If I call you a clown it’s a compliment”, Wladimir said.
“I’m as confident of winning as waking up in the morning and putting my shoes on”, said Fury.
The 39-year-old Klitschko stayed composed throughout the proceedings, despite Fury repeatedly calling him “an old man” and claiming that the champion had only fought “pretenders” in “fixed fights”.
“From watching the hysteria, the rolling around and changing costumes, it is in your genes, you have the talent to make people laugh”. I have got friends from the circus industry.
