Future transfer: Sergio Aguero hints at Manchester City exit
The 27-year-old is still a keen fan of his old side, having departed as a teenager, and has made it clear that he intends to rejoin Independiente when his current contract expires at the Etihad, in four years.
Aguero has scored 116 goals in 176 games for City since he moved to the club in 2011.
Sergio Aguero says he will not sign an extension to his contract in England and wants to return to play for Independiente before he gets too old. “If everything goes well, I will return to the club of my heart at the age of 31”.
In an interview with So Foot magazine in France, the Manchester City striker was asked about a potential return to his home country à la Tevez, to which he responded positively.
To date, he has managed 85 goals in 129 appearances, and scored the goal that brought the Sky Blues their first-ever Premier League title-which they won in 2012. He limped off from the field in the next match against Southampton, but the manager, Manuel Pellegrini termed the injury as nothing serious.
The talismanic striker, who is close friends with Barcelona star Lionel Messi and was linked with a move to Real Madrid last summer, instead hopes to return to his Argentine roots.
