FX renews ‘American Horror Story’
Then she slit Tristan’s throat. “I’ll finish him off”.
As The Countess works on Will Drake, Alex teams up with Liz to get rid of the coffins. Meanwhile, John’s erratic behaviour compels him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. The Countess goes to room 33 in a billowy white dress.
Wes Bentley plays Detective John Lowe on American Horror Story: Hotel. And, when Tristan tells the Countess the truth, that she’s just going to break his heart and move on, just for a second, she seems merciful, telling Liz that she can have Tristan. She had a baby!
But will the baby even be there when The Countess gets back? Knowing that The Countess is out of town, the two head into Hotel Cortez to put their plan into place. In the previous episode Ramona and Donovan develop a kinship over their desire to one-up the countess.
As we soon learn, this child is “the thing” in Room 33 that Iris referred to feeding way back in the pilot.
The big “event” of this week’s episode is what’s inside room 33, which isn’t at all surprising – yes, it’s the vampire baby, and yes, it never grew, and yes, it has a name. Unbeknownst to her, he was shooting at Bartholomew. He was hiding from her and attacked her. It was absolutely terrifying. She described how she could “feel and taste and love”, when she finally became Liz. While she works on that, Liz takes Ramona down to the bar to mend her head wound and have a little chat. Ramona does, but not before offering Liz a few advice. Liz doesn’t run though. Instead he asks Alex to help find Bartholomew.
Upstairs in the penthouse, Donovan runs into the dead tourist girls. They are complaining because they can’t leave the hotel.
The tourists take Donovan’s advice and kill one of the hotel guests.
Agnetha and Vendela take the bait and seduce John, with a threesome ensuing (by the way, this episode must have had a record number of butt cheeks for a non-premium cable show).
Back at home, things are not good with Scarlett, who has been left at her friend’s house for two days. They went back to his room to find the girls and Miss Evers there. John kicks everyone out of the room, confused as to what’s happening. The final straw is a hallucination of the original Hotel Cortez owner, James March (Evan Peters). But John does indeed leave – though not before Bartholomew sneaks into his luggage. John went to unpack, but he heard Scarlett crying. She’s upset about being abandoned and not hearing from her mother, something that John promises to resolve. She tells Taylor that she’s drugged John and doesn’t know what to do. When he goes to his own room, he finds that many of his clothes have been thrown out of his suitcase. He takes out his gun, ready to shoot an intruder.
Downstairs Scarlett is watching TV while Bartholomew is creeping around the corner. John comes down just in time to spot Bartholomew and immediately fires three shots at the baby. The gunfire scares Scarlett, who yells at her dad to stay away from her. While she runs away, John discovers that he managed to hit the baby – but it’s gone.
When the Countess returns, Liz is convinced that she will be understanding of his and Tristan’s relationship. He says that she feeds off the heartbreak and that he was made for more than that. She opens her coat and exposes a large belly, but says she’s only three weeks along. She reveals that she’s fallen for Tristan and deeply believes that The Countess will understand the situation, but Ramona’s been there before. This series has somehow managed to make Chloe Sevigny, of all people, into a walking coma, even more boring now that she’s a vampire and faces no real conflict. But Liz isn’t willing to give up that easily. The Countess looks at Alex teary-eyed and says, “You saved my son”. He thinks things are looking up when he gets to live out his fantasy with Agnetha and Vendela, but the moment quickly descends into a bloody nightmare, really sending John off the deep end. She was in love!
“Let me just have this one”, Liz chimes in.
And surprisingly The Countess says yes – but then she cuts Tristan’s neck. Then she and Ramona talked and Liz told Ramona she had to get out of the Hotel Cortez because so much was going on. Currently, the series is showcasing its fifth season entitled “American Horror Story: Hotel”, its latest episode “Room 33” showing this week.
The Countess, Will Drake and his son came back to the Hotel Cortez on AHS: Hotel. “You saved my son”, the Countess said.
