Gabrielle Union Goes Off On ‘Crazy Lady’ Stacey Dash
“We have to make up our minds; either we want to have segregation or integration”.
Dash caused controversy last week when, during a discussion
Actress Gabrielle Union apparently did not bite her tongue when she was recently asked about Stacey Dash.
Gabrielle Union is just like the rest of us: she can’t even deal with Stacey Dash. But it’s what she said next that really riled people up.
“If it were the other way around, we’d be up in arms”.
“After asking her co-host what she knows about black history besides slavery, Goldberg said, “[Black history] is not taught. “I don’t know what her name is”.
In the post titled, “Twitter Haters, When Do I Get My Apology for Agreeing with Morgan Freeman about #BlackHistoryMonth?” the actress went into more detail as to why BET and Black History Month need to be axed. “We’re American, that’s it”. “I don’t want a Black History Month”. Dash was dragged up and down social media, and BET themselves clapped back (on more than one occasion).
She then shared a link to the interview in question, from news show 60 Minutes, on which Freeman claimed the February celebration was “ridiculous”, adding, “You’re gonna relegate my history to a month?” In it, she traces her conservatism back to her rough childhood in NY in the South Bronx, writes in all caps about black people’s misplaced trust in liberals and argues that most black people missed the point of the civil rights movement (“Which, by the way, we won”, she said).
