Galaxy Note 5 Launch Tipped For August 12th
Although it’s not sure when Samsung will be releasing its next flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 5, it does seem possible that the Korean company will be opting for an earlier release date than usual.
The problem for Samsung is that the launch dates for the phablet and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, a large-screen variant of the firm’s Galaxy S6 Edge, could coincide, according to some market watchers.
The Galaxy Note 5 will be the latest phone in Samsung’s Note line, which it started in 2011. Pricing – for instance – could prove a big stumbling block, assuming these cost more than the S6 and S6 Edge.
Galaxy Note 4 was equipped with 3GB of RAM that enables it to run exclusive features, like running two apps at the same time in split-screen mode.
According to the blog site SamMobile, Galaxy Note handsets are generally announced at IFA Berlin every September.
While the Note 5 Edge could well be an advanced version of the Note Edge, it remains to be seen to what extent Samsung will continue push the display boundaries of its new range. And since wireless charging is slowly becoming a standard, we can expect the Note 5 to support both PMA and WPC standards. In fact, some references to new models, SM-N920 and SM-N925, have been spotted lately. However, the Note 5 will have thinner bezels, as well as a new S Pen that will feel more like a pen, and match the color of the device.
As for the Galaxy Note 5’s features, various rumors suggest that the upcoming device will come with a 5.67-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels.
They are still available for purchase only in China, but that’s about to change since Samsung India has already sent invitations for a launch event where both smartphones will be officially introduced, fonearena reports. This includes the ultimate upgrade where users were offered $100 rebate on every purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge 64GB.
