Galaxy Note 5 leaks: S6 style plus pop-out pen
It’s hard to distinguish it from the Galaxy S6 but for the size; Note 5 being bigger at 5.7-inch screen.
While the photos, which you can see here, provide a good look at the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, they did not disclose any detail regarding its specifications. The Galaxy S6 is more than capable of playing any game on the Google Play Store, and the same goes for the iPhone 6 and the App Store. Then there’s the S Pen, which is now confirmed to pop out thanks to a spring-loaded mechanism. Generally this is a strategy reserved for the same hero device, but here Samsung might be reacting to recent earnings in a brand new way. At the bottom, perhaps the recently confirmed Galaxy Tab S2 in its 8in incarnation or another unknown device.
Samsung seems to be making a pretty bold statement here in terms of the battery. If Samsung gives the Note 5 a 4K screen, it would be one of the very first smartphones with that kind of resolution. Samsung introduced the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note way back in 2011 and it was criticized for being so large.
Perhaps Samsung is winding us all up and the curved device is actually just a scaled-up shadowy render of its smartwatch frame.
Samsung has traditionally followed a predictably boring pattern for Note launches: the device gets announced around the IFA trade show in September, and muscles its way onto shelves by the end of the month.
Available in black, white and gold colours, the 5.5-inch Galaxy J7 sports a Samsung Exynos 1.5GHz octa-core processor, while the Galaxy J5 (pic below) is a 5-inch unit is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz quad-core chipset.
What are your thoughts on the Galaxy Note 5? The reason behind this speculation is that Samsung is already in talks with its Taiwanese distribution network for the cellphone carrier, which might be a marketing gig as well.
While sales of the Samsung Galaxy S6 were disappointing, the company said it was unable to meet demand for the Galaxy S6 Edge due to supply issues.
The stylus is still there, though, and this time round it’s apparently spring-loaded, to help you whip it out and start note-taking with zero delay. A display that will also be seen in an upcoming BlackBerry flagship phone, just showing how Samsung can be ahead of the curve – no pun intended.
