Galaxy Note 7 Didn’t Hurt Samsung’s Brand In The US
It is unlikely that Samsung may jump in too soon with another Galaxy Note device, but who knows, anything is possible. With all the issues surrounding the brand today, many are expecting that the company will cook up something spectacular to make up for their recent fiasco.
Now Samsung is reassuring customers other devices in its Galaxy S7 family are safe to use, despite customer complaints.
Now there are reports that Samsung will be rolling out the latest version of Android for its existing devices.
Samsung has denied that devices in its Galaxy S7 range are affected by the same battery safety issue that forced it to kill off the Galaxy Note 7.
According to research firm Gartner, Chinese companies were only smartphone makers in top five that saw their sales increase in the third-quarter of 2016. However, the company ensured fans that in those cases, the fire was the result of “severe external damage” which in the end caused the battery to swell and outgrow its shell. The majority have replaced their Galaxy Note 7 with another Samsung branded smartphone.
Apple came in in second place with 11.5% of the pie, also down 1.5% compared to the third quarter of a year ago as the iPhone 7 failed to stimulate interest in key markets. Moreover, another user reported that the phone exploded inside the pocket causing second and third-degree burns. 40% of those who own a Samsung handset said that they would never buy another Samsung phone. Of those who did not know about the recall, 25 percent said they would also try a Samsung phone first.
The battery problem that caused some Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to catch fire led to lower sales of Samsung’s Note products.
To be sure, it was unclear how much the Samsung recall weighed on the minds of consumers.
