Galaxy S7 Always On Display could put notifications a glance away
LG posted a GIF on the site showing only a rough outline of the LG G5 showing off its Always ON screen.
We know it’s going to be the G5, and we now know a little more about the feature set.
LG’s chosen date is a bold statement for the company, as Samsung will also be unveiling its next flagship device, the Galaxy S7, on that day. Based on the latest rumor, the LG company has validated the fact that the upcoming LG G5 will showcase the “Always ON” display element, this statement is official as it has been posted on their official Facebook page.
The caption says Never go asleep while others do.
Android Authority who managed to obtain the teaser GIF image claims that LG’s Always On display will be different from what Samsung is planning for its Galaxy S7 models this year. That’s not a major departure from what Motorola has done with active notifications on phones since 2013’s Moto X, but it does suggest that LG could switch to a new screen technology for the G5.
LG could be implying that the LG G5s screen would never turn off. While this might be a new feature that we havent seen before.
This is because the Always On display of the LG G5 is not an AMOLED display, such as that in the Galaxy S7, but rather a full-screen version of the second screen of the LG V10. LG is expected to debut a second handset, although details of when this will arrive is unclear.
Most users would instantly think, upon being informed of an always on screen, of how long the device’s battery would last.
