Galaxy S8 to Gain Facial Recognition Over Doubts About Iris Scanning Technology

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is now made official following heaps of leaks and incessant rumors making the rounds about the Korean tech giant’s next flagship smartphone. The dimensions of S7 Edge are 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm. Features like a dual-curved screen, bezel-free display, and square-shaped virtual button can be seen. LG unveiled the LG G6 at Mobile World Congress 2017 and the handset rocks a 5.7-inch display. Samsung bids farewell to the “Samsung” logo on top, and the pill-shaped home button at the bottom.
The manufacturer were unclear on pricing structure of their upcoming flagship duo, so we have to rely on rumors and analysts’ reports for now.

The Galaxy S8 models will go on sale on April 21st and although this is U.S. dates, we expect it to be as close to a worldwide release as is possible. The handset may feature facial recognition technology, adding another layer of security alongside a fingerprint and iris scanner. It is also expected to have a display of 6.2-inch QHD AMOLED model that is marketed as Galaxy S8 Plus. We only learned last November that it would be receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update. In addition, both the S8 and S8 Plus will offer wireless charging support, according to the FCC entry.
Roland Quandt, a known leakster has revealed that the Galaxy S8 would be priced 799 euros ($846) whereas the Galaxy S8 Plus would be costing 899 euros ($952). Moreover, colors for the upcoming devices were also leaked, with Violet joining Black and Silver as the three options.
