GAME admits many Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Editions won’t arrive today
Many customers who have been unable to contact GAME’s customer services concerning their botched Fallout 4 orders will not be receiving the game today.
It’s reassuring to know that orders are still safe with GAME and its clearly working through a much bigger backlog than originally reported. Back then, it used the same line that it was the fault of the banks, telling GameSpot “this is a totally normal situation which happens all the time”.
It also recently had similar problems with Mario Maker pre-orders.
At midnight last night, Bethesda Game Studios released the latest instalment of its wildly popular Fallout series of games. Fallout 4, actually the fifth major instalment of the post-apocalyptic RPG (with Fallout: New Vegas separating editions 3 and 4), has generated huge global interest, which can be partially attributed to the company’s inspired marketing campaign.
GAME has put up a statement on Facebook admitting the problems, but claiming that everyone will still get their pre-order eventually. A 23-year-old mechanical engineer named Yvo de Haas, famous for his 3D printable Fallout laser rifle, from Ytec3D chose to make his own version of the Pip-Boy smartphone holder using SolidWorks and came up with a custom 3D printable version of the Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV. We were able to ship these items today and affected customers will have the game shortly. This was contrary to GAME’s previous claims of contacting the banks and requesting for the payment to be processed. About a day later, the customer received a second automated email asking for the same details.
There are plenty of nice touches that fans will appreciate included in this Bethesda pack and comes with enough content to keep gamers on Xbox One, PS4 and PC satisfied.
It wrote: “We would ask that if you have not been able to replace your order by phone yet, don’t worry your order is still reserved and being held for you in our distribution centre”.
If we haven’t heard from you or haven’t been able to speak to you by telephone sadly it is now too late for you to receive your Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition on release day.
At the time of going to press, more than one hundred customers have commented on the Facebook post, most of which have expressed their displeasure. Blaming Paypal and banks for not releasing funds, GAME made a lot of customers very angry, which lead to long waiting hours for many when calling the store’s customers service line.
“GAME can confirm that these payment issues were not caused by our systems, and instead arose due to customers’ banks or PayPal accounts not allowing payment to go through”. Each Hub includes the time frame that you will need to wait, usually within 2-4 days, as well as the estimated cost for the entire print.
