‘Game of Thrones’ author ‘tired’ of Marvel’s movie villains
Many people have commented on the Marvel films’ weak-sauce villain problem, which perhaps stems from the fact that every Marvel movie is, in some ways, just a bridge to another Marvel movie. Dr. Pym created the Pym Particle, which allows him to shrink matter. Also, being a super-hero film, the antagonist is too generic and inconsequential to register. Tre’ana, age 11, adds, The technology is so transparent that it is truly believable.
Blockbusters are fun, especially during the summer months, but damn, superhero movies are about to drive me out of my mind. See their full reviews below.
Michael Douglas is brilliant, and it’s great to see how the actor makes the role larger than life making one wonder as to what his journey would have been as the scientist who lost his wife, his daughter’s trust, was voted out of his own company but managed to survive with a secret. Later, during fights, Reed impressively intercuts between Scott and Cross (in a similar suit) in normal and insect sizes, leaving you closely following the action. Things take a turn when the world is not the only thing that needs saving. I always know an acting performance from an antagonist is incredible when I actually believe the person is evil in real life. However, he still finds it hard to make ends meet.
Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is a career thief, recently released from jail and attempting to build a relationship with his daughter.
The movie is uplifting and amusing in so many ways.
Like the other Marvel movies, Ant-Man is filled with laughs. I want more films where the hero and the villain have wildly different powers. It will be interesting to see how Lang fits into future Marvel movies, like the next Captain America film. Check it out coming to theatres on July 17th.
Clark Gregg shared an image of the first script while Bennet shared Brett Dalton sneaking in some bacon at the cast’s first table read for season three. After just a couple of days in theatres, Ant Man is already on track to earn back its $130 million budget. In the beginning there is some drama, but that transcends and goes deep into a sci-fi, action-pack film. The technology is so transparent that it is truly believable.
“Ant-Man” is playing at Hershey Cocoaplex and Flagship Cinema in Palmyra. Pym and his daughter Hope (Evangeline Lily) wind up recruiting Scott to don the Ant-Man suit and to “break into a place and steal some s-” one last time.
What does Dr. Pym want from Lang? Like Ant-Man, GotG was also features a completely fresh set of characters, and relies heavily on comedy to make the story work. She’s bitter, with the full wrath of a would-be superheroine whose father won’t let her wear the unbelievable ant-suit. Scott Lang plays a convict/Electrical Engineer/cat-burglar who somehow gets baffled by simple scientific terms. It is so humorous the whole audience starts laughing. When you show in the final scene the Avengers reshuffled and ready for anything that comes their way, Marvel should have made Hank and Scott get in touch with them. The results will be more rewarding. To wit, there’s an interlude in this film involving a familiar Marvel supporting character which – whilst amusing – feels so shoehorned in for the sake of connecting everything it borders on self-parody.
