Game Preview – Philadelphia 76ers @ New York Knicks
The 76ers have lost four straight at Madison Square Garden.
“It’s a big adjustment for me still”.
According to oddsmakers from oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, NY is favored in tonight’s game, as the Knicks are getting odds of -3 points against the Nets. Grant’s confidence during a time when the game was at least somewhat still contested was the ultimate takeaway. But they did sweep the Knicks last season.
Porzingis is averaging 13.8 points and 9.3 rebounds so far this season for the 9-10 Knicks.
Brett Brown complimented Porzingis at the end of the game, comparing him to Dirk Nowitzki and Toni Kukoc. “His upside is going to be whatever he wants it to be”. He has gotten knicknames such as “PorzinGOD or PORZINGOAT”, which seems insane but people really love him.
“I think what creates a rivalry is constant competitive games, constantly played at a high level, ” Jack said. Via Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.
Adding insult to (well, someone else’s) injury, while our #3 overall pick was a DNP – Disgrace, last summer’s #4 overall pick was continuing his dream rookie season for the Knicks at our expense.
For as good as both big men have been, they’re probably trailing Towns in a crowded race for rookie of the year.
“He’s going to lead this organization long after I’m retired”, Anthony said, via Newsday.com.
Jackson noted that he’d seen Porzingis just one time before the draft – a shooting exhibition in Las Vegas – but with Karl Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell and Okafor off the board, he trusted his scouts and was comfortable with the selection. The team still has a glaring need for a penetrating wing player who can also shoot-perhaps they’ll find one next summer in free agency-but their offensive rebounding, with the 7-foot-3-inch Porzingis in charge, is the fourth-best in the league, which leads to more second-chance points every night.
“The surprise is he’s doing it right away”, Calderon said. “He works hard. If he has a bad game, he goes back and works hard”. Tom Moore of the Calkins Media reported that Covington should be good to go for Saturday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, and that he was kneed in the thigh.
“He asks, he listens”.
As you would expect, the other Lakers in the locker room defended Kobe’s right to shoot as much as he wants, but even they are now questioning the offense and how he is getting those shots. He’s always listening to everybody. They took another step Wednesday by suspending him for two games for “conduct detrimental to the team” and it’s been some start to a career for the kid. So I’m very serious, very professional about what I can do.
“I’ve been watching him”.
Just a few months after being booed by what seemed like half of New York, Knicks rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis continues to drop the jaws of National Basketball Association fans everywhere on what seems to be a nightly occurrence.
