Gamers discover “home remedy” to launch Cortana on Xbox One preview
Microsoft’s Xbox One is getting ready to release its new Xbox Experience in the coming holiday season even though there are a few rumors doing the rounds of fans being disappointed with the system software of this console giant since it won’t include Cortana, the personal digital assistant as part of the update. Cortana for the Xbox One had been delayed recently after it was planned originally to be released with integration updates on the Xbox One for Windows 10. As long as you’re using the Xbox One interface previews, you can access Cortana pretty easily.
Apparently, you can load up Cortana on Xbox One preview by going to settings, going up, then repeatedly mashing the “A” button. However, we do know now that Microsoft is actively working on bringing Cortana to the Xbox One, and it is present in the beta system software to a few extent.
Again, this is all early stuff, and Cortana doesn’t really have numerous functionalities that it has on PC. It will also be available for the Xbox One, though not until sometime next year, at least officially. “Enjoy the convenience of your very own personal assistant and relax knowing that you’re in control of the information you share with Cortana”, the description on Microsoft’s website reads. Unlocking Cortana isn’t quite as involved though, nor will it give you extra lives to fool around with. Cortana on Xbox One makes it possible for users to access any information available in this feature on other platforms, for which Cortana was already released. Cortana will be implemented, but according to Major Nelson, it won’t be officially launched until next year. While the vibe of disappointment has been around ever since, it looks like that the current build of the New Xbox One Experience, that is now available only to members of the Xbox Preview Program, already include Cortana, although it has been hidden.
