Gary Barlow performs surprise wedding gig
Yep, the Take That star has made so many appearances at marriages recently that a wedding planner looks pretty amateur if they can’t land him – but the latest bride looks like the most excited yet to have her day made by the crooner.
As a result, Barlow agreed to join the festivities and hit the stage at the Three Nuns pub in Loughborough after a Robbie Williams tribute act.
And bride Katie Hardy’s friends managed to collectively send more than 9 million tweets to the star to ensure that the lifelong Take That fan would get a visit.
Katie, who has each member of Take That’s signatures tattooed on her arm, married her long-term partner, Steve, in Loughborough on Saturday and had no idea that sneaky Gary was planning to turn up all along.
“It was just the icing on the cake – I was speechless”.
Bride Katie Hardy and her new husband Stephen Hardy were kept in the dark about Gary’s appearance at their nuptials in Leicestershire after their friends had put their names forward following a Twitter competition Barlow launched in January.
“It was awesome. It made the day even more flawless than it had already been”.
The couple, who have three children, Kymberlee, Ben and Jessica, said Gary arrived without fuss and with no security, just his personal assistant and driver.
After the 44-year-old heartthrob performed, he stayed for their wedding photos.
If you want to up your wedding performances again, Gary, we’re here. I can’t believe it’s me in them’.
She said friends also engineered the singer getting a hand-delivered invitation to the wedding when he was at the red carpet London premiere of the film Kingsman.
Then speaking of Katie’s reaction on the big day itself, she added: ‘It was brilliant.
