Gary Bettman: NHL releases the home openers for 2016-17
The St. Louis Blues will visit Chicago to face the Blackawks, the team St. Louis ousted in the first round of this season’s playoffs, and reigning Western Conference champion San Jose will entertain the Los Angeles Kings. They also play four games (the last three on the road) against the Stars, Stanley Cup runner-up San Jose, Los Angeles and Anaheim in early March.
– The Sharks play 30 games inside their division (vs. each team five times), 20 games vs. The 5-foot-11, 191-pound native of Detroit played in 41 regular-season games before his season came to a close on March 3 when he suffered a broken ankle. They finished the 2015-16 regular season with a 28-10-3 record away from home.
The defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins will play at Consol Energy Center for three straight games to open the 2016-17 season.
