Gary Neville makes bold claim about Arsene Wenger and Arsenal
Arsenal have confirmed more injury news as winger Alex Iwobi is reportedly set to miss up to a month after damaging his hip in their 4-3 loss to Liverpool at the Emirates on Sunday.
The Welsh star is expected to be sidelined until after the upcoming worldwide break after getting crocked in Arsenal’s 4-3 opening day defeat to Liverpool.
Luckily, the roster looks strong enough across the midfield to handle Iwobi’s (and Ramsey’s) absence for a few games.
“When it rains, it pours” and if there’s one man for whom these words fit perfectly it’s Arsene Wenger because a new name has been added to his list of injuries.
Arsenal face Leicester City at the King Power stadium on Saturday, before travelling to Vicarage Road to play Watford at the end of the month.
It means Iwobi will now miss Saturday’s trip to the King Power to face champions Leicester City and the trip to Vicarage Road to take on Watford the following week before the upcoming worldwide break.
“It is better news than we feared at the start”.
“I pushed Ramsey in and he got injured”, Wenger admitted after the game. Goals from Oxlade-Chamberlin and Calum Chambers were not enough for the gunners to come back into the game as Jurgen Klopp’s side emerged victorious.
The season has only just begun but the injuries are already starting to pile up as Iwobi and Ramsey join Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista after the defenders picked up serious injuries in pre-season. The 25-year-old was even named in the Euro 2016 Team of the Tournament.
