Gas prices expected to keep falling through holidays
The organization also forecast the lowest Thanksgiving gasoline prices in the past seven years.
Prices at a few stations have dipped below the $2 per gallon mark, making it the lowest gas prices at Thanksgiving in six years.
The group predicts 46.9 million folks will travel 50 miles or more during the Thanksgiving holiday, a slight increase, 0.6%, from a year ago, and the most since 2007.
Driving over the river and through the woods will be quite a bit cheaper this Thanksgiving, thanks to rapidly falling gas prices.
One might call the current gas prices as part of a “perfect storm”, what with holiday travel just around the corner.
DeHaan said the national trend now is for retail prices to continue to lower “and for the next two months individuals stations could drop to around $1.50 to $1.60 per gallon”. He said the florist, celebrating its 70th anniversary, typically has 2½ trucks delivering flowers every day.

Tuesday – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped again Tuesday, decreasing 1 cent to $2.833.
“This puts more money in my pocket and allows me to do other things instead of spending it on gas”, said Johnson, who is retired and on disability. He drives a 1985 Chevy truck for work.
“It’s a big help”, said Milwaukee resident Ben Rodriguez.
Gas prices are likely to decline through the end of the year, and main reason for this possibly is Midwest refineries, which are running up without any issue.
According to AAA Wisconsin, almost one million people will be on the roads, up nearly 2% from a year ago. The nation’s most expensive markets are located in states west of the Rockies, led by Hawaii ($2.86), California ($2.80), Nevada ($2.67), Washington ($2.52) and OR ($2.41).
