Gas prices fall 3.5 cents in Maine in past week
The average price for gas in the Harrisburg area today is more than $1 less than a year ago.
The long streak of declining gas prices in Georgia ended last week, but AAA says it’s only temporary.
According to the auto club, gas prices statewide have gone up two weeks in a row.
The largest savings at the pump are seen in Midwest states where averages continue to move lower following the resolution of localized refinery issues: Illinois (-62 cents), Indiana (-56 cents), Michigan (-54 cents) and Wisconsin (-52 cents).
The national average on Monday was $2.29, the same price as a week earlier. Accounting for the typical disparity between national and Pittsburgh prices, that could mean gallon prices here of roughly $2.15 to $2.20.

Crude oil, which accounts for roughly two-thirds of a price of gasoline, has hovered at around $45 a barrel for much of the last month amid a global oversupply and over uncertainty that demand has waned.
