Gas prices keep dropping in northern New England
Average retail gasoline prices in Kentucky have risen 1.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.87a gallong Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 2,623 gas outlets in Kentucky.
Statewide, prices average $1.99 a gallon, down 1 cent per gallon from last week’s $2 a gallon.
AAA, which compiles gas price information from around the country, is projecting that gas prices will stay lower in the year ahead – maybe even lower than this year. Phoenix- $1.95/g, down 0.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $1.95/g.
The average price for a gallon of gas in MI didn’t change much compared to last week, bucking a trend of volatile weekly price swings.
“Talk about starting the New Year off right”, says GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan.
Ohio’s prices continue running below the national average for regular gas, which was $1.99 to start this week.
Chattanooga prices also are 4 cents per gallon below the statewide average for all Tennessee stations and are at the lowest level in almost seven years.
Drives in the United States saved a chunk of money in 2015 due to the low oil prices. “Demand should really take a dive and refiners in the North East have ramped up production, so the good news is low demand/higher supply should bring about lower prices”.
