Gas prices lower in Ottawa than Edmonton today
As of Thursday afternoon, a litre of regular is selling for 93.3 cents a litre at most London stations.
GasBuddy.com was reporting gas prices on Friday of 96.8 a litre in Orillia, 95.6 in Angus, 97.9 in Midland and nearly $1.04 in Bracebridge. Diesel has decreased by four cents and furnace and stove oil, by three cents. Stations in Ottawa are posting an average price of 98 cents per litre today but in Edmonton our average pump price is around $1 a litre.
Consumers should expect the price to fall again in the near future, thanks to the end of the summer driving season. But even with gas prices around $1, it’s still about 30 cents cheaper less than this time previous year. This time previous year, gas was at 131.9 cents per litre.
There is also an oversupply of oil on the global market and it’s the same for gasoline, which could mean more gas prices in the 90-cent range to come.
