Gas Prices Lowest in 100 Days
AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have fallen by about 7 cents per gallon in the past week.
Stockton- $2.62/g, down 5.9 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.68/g.
Sacramento-area gas prices fell another 6 cents a gallon over the past week.
Oakland- $2.71/g, down 7.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.79/g.
According to AAA’s August 1 survey of prices in the state, it finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.08 per gallon.
Fewer than one percent of stations nationwide are selling gasoline for more than $3 per gallon, compared to 13 percent of stations one year ago.
“Strong supplies and falling oil prices continue to fuel savings for motorists at the pump”, said Mary Maguire, director of public and legislative affairs for AAA, in a statement. “Demand for gasoline continues to surge as low prices have spurred more road trips and have swayed consumer vehicle purchasing habits”, said Will Speer, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy in a news release.
Speer said that “despite high demand for gasoline, prices have continued to fall amidst an oversupply of gasoline across the country”.
Gas prices around OH are up slightly from a week ago, while down from the average this time last month.
