Gas prices rise 7 cents in MI
Gas-Buddy pointed out that Tulsa’s gas is about 20 cents cheaper than it was a year ago.
The average price of gas is now $2.15/gallon. Which is still about 21 cents less than this same time a year ago. The average price in the Charleston-North Charleston area is about $1.98 per gallon, the highest in the state.
Prices stayed the same over the past month but 34.5 cents per gallon lower than they were on this date previous year, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 91 Yakima-area gas stations.
Knoxville- $1.98/g, up 3.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $1.94/g.
Gas prices are on the rise as Americans prepare for Labor Day road trips, the auto club AAA said this week. This is 9 cents less than it was one month ago, and 54 cents less than the same time past year.
With the conclusion of Labor Day weekend comes the conclusion of the summer driving season in the world’s largest gasoline consuming country, setting the stage for gasoline demand and prices to fall.
Monday morning drivers will notice the price of gas went up to $2.12 per gallon overnight.
The state’s average pump price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline on Sunday, Aug. 28, was $2.39 per gallon, according to AAA Michigan surveys.
States with the cheapest and most expensive gasoline today, respectively: SC ($1.94), Alabama ($1.97), MS ($1.99), Hawaii ($2.71), California ($2.67) and Washington ($2.61).
Hancock says, “We typically see an increase in roadway fatalities during heavy travel holidays”.
Harrisburg- $2.23 per gallon, up 3.5 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.19 per gallon. This has been largely tied to refinery issues in the Gulf Coast, including flooding at the Baton Rogue Exxon Mobil and Covent facilities and a refinery outage in Baytown, Texas, which have pressured prices higher in areas supplied by these facilities.
