Gas Prices Wars: Lower Prices Spreading
As of Monday morning, the average price for regular in the Wichita area was $2.17 a gallon, down from $2.19 a week ago and $2.97 a year ago.
While a few parts of the country are below $2 a gallon, it hasn’t happened here.
GasBuddy’s latest report says prices Sunday were 66.8 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago, and 7.6 cents higher per gallon than a month ago. Founded in 2000, GasBuddy.com developed as an initiative to provide consumers access to local, current gas prices. Also in Harker Heights, the Wal-Mart at 960 E. Farm-to-Market 2410 and Verna Lee Road posted a price of $1.83.
Roseville’s low gas prices are no longer exclusive to a few stations. During that time, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline was $1.58. Significant yearly savings persist, and the national average is discounted by 85 cents per gallon from this same date past year, according to AAA – The Auto Club Group.
Drivers are seeing lower gas prices at pumps in New Jersey.
USA average of $2.20 is the lowest on October 25 since 2006 (2.199) – the next lowest was on October 25, 2004 which was $2.017.
