Gaza govt: Egyptian army killed Palestinian in cold blood

Ishaq Hassan was shot by security forces on Thursday shortly after swimming into Egyptian waters from Gaza Strip.

Sa’id Alama, the Legal advisor of the GOHR, said the Palestinian misery, resulted from the Egyptian siege, must be reconsidered by the worldwide organizations immediately.

The Interior Ministry there said the man was mentally ill and demanded Egypt launch a probe into the incident.

Aljazeera broadcast a video Friday that showed a completely naked Palestinian man being shot at multiple times by Egyptian army officers.

A Palestinian security guard on the beach is seen waving and shouting at the Egyptian guards in a watch tower to stop them from shooting him.

According to reports, Hassan was known to have suffered from mental and emotional disturbances.

The family of an Israeli believed to have been held captive by terror group Hamas in the Gaza Strip for over a year made a rare public statement on Saturday after a video was released allegedly showing Egyptian troops shooting and killing a mentally ill Palestinian.

Mr Hassan attempts to dodge the bullets as a Palestinian security guard yells at the gunmen to cease fire.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has voiced concerns over the excessive use of force and “extrajudicial killing” of Palestinians by Israeli forces, saying that the circumstances surrounding several of the Palestinian deaths over the past weeks remain disputed.
