Gaza rocket hits parked bus in Israel town
The overnight air strikes targeted two training camps belonging to Hamas, causing no injuries, officials and witnesses said.
No injuries or damages were reported.
Three rockets were fired from northern Gaza into southern Israel Friday night, residents and security officials in Gaza said.
According to Channel 10, the rocket struck the front yard of a home in Sderot, causing light damage to the residence and a bus that was parked nearby.
Israeli media reports claimed that the attacks were conducted in retaliation for rockets fired at Israeli cities earlier in the day.
Israel has long accused Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic political organization and the de facto authority in Gaza, of carrying out bomb and missile attacks in Israel and in the occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Israel pointed the finger at Hamas movement, which has ruled and controlled the enclave since 2007.
Hamas didn’t claim responsibility for the rockets attack from northern Gaza into Israel on Friday.
The high alert is also due to the escalating security situation in Jerusalem, where clashes became a daily occurrence between Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters.
