GBBO Heart-throb Tamal Reveals He Is Gay And Single
Great British Bake Off contestant – and dreamboat – Tamal, has opened up about his dating prospects as he enters the final stages of the competition.
.
At a time when the BBC has come under pressure to increase diversity, the new series of the cookery show was notable for a line-up that included contestants whose families originally came from Lithuania, the Caribbean, and the Philippines, as well as fellow semi-finalist Tamal Ray, whose parents moved to the United Kingdom from India in the 1960s.
“I’m a Hindu, and I prayed quite a lot”, he told Radio Times. “It’s the last thing I want to do, to be honest!”
“I wouldn’t have a girlfriend, I would have a boyfriend”, Tamal revealed. I think the show is a fantastic representation of British society today.
And when asked about potential relationships he added: “I wouldn’t have a girlfriend. I just prayed in a general sense and sent it out there”, he told Radio Times.
“Yes, I have had a few offers on Twitter!” he added.
The 29-year-old baker – who describes himself on Twitter as a “fuzzy haired doctor and lover of cake” – won the hearts of the GBBO audience with his doe eyes, gentle manner and sweet nature (he rang his mum after winning Star Baker, for crying out loud!), sending female viewers into a frenzy on Twitter. He said he was “genuinely surprised” to win week two. Then when I got star baker three times, everyone thought I was super confident, but I’m not.
Mrs Hussain recalled: ‘I had to make puff pastry in my first class. I remember my teacher Mrs Marshall saying I was really good. Who knew that Bake Off fans were such a dirty bunch, eh?
“When people find out about the Aga, they think I’m very posh”, Flora admitted. There was a lot of baking during Freshers’ Week!
Romance aside, the Bake Off experience has also made the 28-year-old more popular at work where he is a senior house officer at an intensive care unit.
Her delicate skills and explosive flavours have seen the stay-at-home mum sail through to Wednesday night’s semi-finals but the 30-year-old says she hopes to have woken up Britain to more than just her culinary talents.
