General Mills recalls Betty Crocker cake mix
Two flavors of Betty Crocker cake mix are being voluntarily recalled as part of a larger General Mills flour recall.
Continental Mills has recalled specific lots of its Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix products because they may contain contaminated flour.
A local grocery chain has announced a recall of blueberry pancake mix, and cake mix due to some E. Coli concerns.
Only boxes with certain “Better if Used By Dates” are affected by the recall; find more details here.
In the U.S, the mix carried a Package UPC 000-16000-40997 and “better if used by dates” including 25MAR2017, 28MAR2017, 27APR2017, 28APR2017, 23MAY2017, 24MAY2017, and 25MAY2017.
The recall is being made due to flavor chips contained in both products being produced using Wondra flour which was in a recent General Mills recall on July 1 due to a multistate outbreak of E. coli connected to that product. In rare cases, it can even cause a type of kidney failure.
