George Bush enlists President Obama to help him take a selfie
While some may pack a selfie stick, Bush instead happened to have the current president nearby, so he tapped Obama on the shoulder and enlisted his help in taking the photo.
Bush needed a little help from Barack Obama on Saturday morning at the opening of the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of African American Culture and History. While president, Bush signed the law that authorized the construction of the space in 2003. She too shed a tear as her husband spoke. “We are America”, he said. We’re America,”Obama said. “And that’s what this museum explains, the fact that our stories have shaped every corner of our culture”. “It faces its flaws, and corrects them”.
During Saturday’s ceremony, President Obama gave a speech in which he called the museum “a monument, no less than the others on this Mall, to the deep and abiding love for this country, and the ideals upon which it is founded”.
If watching Bush fail to take a selfie only to have Obama snap a photo gets more people to this museum, then by all means, keep on snapping.
After the opening Bush shared a photo on Instagram with the caption: ‘Thanks for taking our photo with the Bonner family, Mr. President.
