George Clooney “fine” after motorbike crash in Italy
Actor George Clooney has reportedly been released from a hospital in Italy after being injured in an accident on the island of Sardinia.
The Hollywood actor collided with a Mercedes auto on Tuesday morning while in Puntaldia, Sardinia, on the way to a TV set.
An ambulance later took Clooney to the nearest hospital, according to Cicognani. Fortunately, the legendary actor has been released from the hospital and is now recovering, and may even be returning to work within the week.
Clooney broke a rib in a motorcycle accident in New Jersey in 2008, while his then-girlfriend Sarah Larson suffered a broken foot.
According to CNN, Clooney “smashed the windshield with his head and flew 30 feet from the auto”.
The star who lives in Sonning, Berkshire with his wife Amal Clooney and their two children, doesn’t appear to be badly injured.
Local police are investigating the causes and responsibility of the accident.
The actor is in Sardinia filming Catch 22, a TV adaptation of Joseph Heller’s book of the same name. He has a home on Lake Como and was married in Venice in 2014 to the British human rights attorney, Amal Clooney.
A hospital official confirmed to NBC that his injuries were not very bad, so the 57-year-old got discharged pretty fast. He was reportedly heading to the set when he was struck by the vehicle.
Italian media reported that Clooney was knocked off his bike by a vehicle and taken to a local hospital.
