George W. Bush campaigns for brother Jeb
The day before, Trump released a statement raging about Cruz’s supposedly “fraudulent” campaign actions.
Cruise turned focus to Marco Rubio, who just this week accused the Cruz camp of creating a fake Facebook page alleging South Carolina Congressman, Trey Gowdy, was resending his endorsement of Rubio for Cruz. “He respects the military, he honors their families and at times of crisis, he will be a steady hand”, George W. Bush says over an ominous soundtrack. In late August, he snapped at reporters who kept bringing up Trump when he didn’t want to talk about him, and in October he complained that he had “really cool things” he could be doing rather than running for president and “sit[ting] around, being miserable, [and] listening to people demonize me”.
Bush came to the aid of his brother Jeb Bush’s Republican presidential campaign in SC on Monday with a rousing endorsement of his character and a call for voters to reject the angry bluster of Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, Bush called Trump “a bully” best dealt with by a “punch back in the nose”.
Rubio on Wednesday continued to attack Cruz for being dishonest and politically calculating, saying the Texas Republican’s behavior has been “disturbing”. I wanna tell you.
Trump previously said on Friday that he had “standing” to sue if Cruz didn’t “clean up his act, stop cheating, & doing negative ads”.
“That lawsuit will be frivolous, and it will result in both Donald Trump and any lawyer that signs his name to the pleadings being sanctioned in court for filing frivolous litigation”.
The poll has also revealed that the Republican candidate is the top choice when it comes to policy issues such as the economy, illegal immigration, foreign policy, and the Islamic State.
But Cruz, who said he would like to take Trump’s deposition himself, said a lawsuit against the ad has no chance.
Cruz edged out Trump in a Wednesday national poll by NBC New/Wall Street Journal, the first time Trump came in second in a major national poll in months. “And I think he is getting you off your message – your good message”.
“To Mr. Trump, you have been threatening frivolous lawsuits your entire adult life”, said Cruz as the ad ended.
“If he doesn’t take down his false ads and retract his lies, I will do so immediately”, Trump said.
Ahead of Saturday’s Republican vote, Cruz and the billionaire businessman Trump battled for votes with an exchange of harsh words.
The polls in SC seem to indicate Trump is going to win comfortably there, though yesterday an internal Bush poll showed Trump at 26 and Cruz at 24. “We need someone who can fix the problems that cause our anger and frustration … and that’s Jeb Bush”.
