Georgetown County authorities urging evacuations in flooded Oatland and Dunbar
Due to actually pouring circumstances and concrete closures, locals among the Dunbar and Oatland cities seldomly get access to the road structure.
Georgetown County spokesperson Jackie Broach a boat and possibly a fire truck will be moving through the area at regular intervals to assist people in evacuation and will transport them to a nearby school. People trickled out of their homes and into safer zones throughout Thursday and Friday, with help from county officials.
“While an obligatory clearing request has not been issued, we do emphatically empower residents of the Oatland and Dunbar group to take this chance to empty”, officials said.

According to the National Weather Service, areas along the Edisto, Santee, and Black rivers continue to experience moderate to major flooding. Haley said the shelters have all the resources that they need and a few have too much.
Friday, Gov. Haley was joined by Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, who got a first hand look at flood damage caused throughout the state. Georgetown County Emergency Management is making transportation available for residents of these communities to travel across the flooded roadway to Browns Ferry Elementary School.
A handful of people evacuated the area Thursday and many more left Friday afternoon.

The S.C. National Guard has activated 3,826 members, and they have performed 210 missions in 18 counties, Haley said.
Haley said flooding is expected in Georgetown in the next 12 hours, followed by Jamestown and the Givens Ferry area in the next 72 hours. “My guardians aren’t going to empty until it’s obligatory, however”.
Broach said there are still no mandatory evacuations in Georgetown County.
Winns’ house wasn’t flooded but the river’s water was slowly creeping up the hill, she said.
“I don’t know if it’s going to flood like they say”, Winns said.
Argeno Frasier, who was likewise cleared out of Dunbar, would not like to go out. Her two sons forced her to book a room at a hotel as well, though she said she’s still anxious about looters.
