Georgia disaster relief expert to help lead efforts in South Carolina
The rain has finally stopped in South Carolina, but the danger remains for people trying to recover from this month’s historic flood. The BBB recommends working with charities experienced in disaster relief and tax-exempt charities.

Almost 40 Red Cross volunteers from Oregon and Southwest Washington have deployed across the country this week.
The Red Cross has more than 400 workers on the ground across the state responding to the disaster.
As catastrophic rainfall and severe flooding continue in the Carolinas, the American Red Cross is helping families stay safe and dry by opening shelters, bringing in meals and providing emotional support.
The Red Cross is especially looking for people who can help at shelters.
“He has been called in to be the No. 2 in command for this very large operation”, said Sherry Nicholson with the Red Cross.
Two Montgomery County Red Cross volunteers are seeing first-hand the flooding caused by Hurricane Joaquin. Please place your donations in a plastic bag or container, and if possible, sort by size and gender.
This is the 8th time in 26 years that WYFF 4 has partnered with the American Red Cross to assist in disaster relief efforts.
