Georgia hospital reunites bedridden couple of 68 years in same room
A hospital in the US city of Georgia has made a special arrangement to ensure a married couple never have to spend a night apart.
It shows Tom Clark, 96, and his wife, Arnisteen, 92.
“Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for the Clarks and many more happy years together”, the hospital wrote on their Facebook page along with this touching photo now going viral with almost 2,000 shares.
They both checked into Fayette Hospital of Piedmont earlier this month to be treated for separate health problems.
The only time the Fayetteville couple spent apart in all their years was when Tom, an Army veteran, was stationed overseas in Korea.
That’s when floor director Tina Mann stepped in and arranged to have the two placed in their own room together, bed-by-bed.
A hospital official says the adorable couple is still in the hospital, but are being brought together as much as possible. Clark is overjoyed to be by his wife’s side.
For Tom, it meant the world to be able to see his beloved bride.
He said: “I just can’t bare to be away from here, she’s the finest woman in the world”. Under the tears Tom added he couldn’t bear to be away from her. It is against state regulations to put two patients in a private room, according to Charlsie Niemiec of Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
