German woman kidnapped in Kabul, official says
A German woman was kidnapped in Kabul on Monday by armed assailants, a senior Afghan police official said.
Safety in Kabul has deteriorated in current months as Taliban insurgents have intensified their struggle towards the Kabul authorities.
The woman reportedly worked with German government aid agency GIZ.
The security situation in Afghanistan has worsened since the start of the month.
An AFP photographer saw a maroon Hilux pickup truck outside GIZ’s office in Kabul, with the backseat window smashed.
The German Foreign Ministry had announced that he had managed to escape from Taliban custody.
