As the concept artist for the upcoming film, Davis used his detailed knowledge of the production to draw a print for Mondo…one that gives us a firsthand look at a ghostly creation he and del Toro envisioned for CRIMSON PEAK. A new poster has been released showing Tom Hiddleston.
But even though the house plays a significant role, del Toro said that the movie is not a haunted house movie. “The house basically is a sinister, sinister trap”. “It’s not that at all”, Del Toro shared with EW.
The director also revealed that the horror starts after Edith Cushing and Thomas Sharpe gets married.
Legendary Pictures’ Crimson Peak, a co-production with Universal Pictures, is a haunting Gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy series, Pacific Rim), written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins, and starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam, and Jim Beaver. She is “swept away to his mansion atop a mountain made of blood-red clay; a place filled with secrets”.
Come “Crimson Peak” release date, Charlie Hunnam’s character Dr. Alan McMichael will be revealed as quite a timid guy, who falls madly in love with the heroine, portrayed by Mia Wasikowska.
Crimson Peak is set to hit theaters on October 16.
