Get in the Christmas spirit at Wyevale Santa Claus Parade

Santa Claus is coming to town for the city’s annual parade. Once the ceremony is done and Santa arrives on a fire truck, everyone is invited to walk to the nearby fire station for refreshments and visits with the jolly old elf.
The rides will be available between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Last week, a mother came to Santa and told him that her daughter had visited with him when she was sick previous year.
The Downtown Victoria Business Association and the City of Victoria are doing their part to bring visitors downtown prior to the parade with their annual Centennial Square Christmas Tree Light-Up. “It’s just an incredible parade”. Several Girl Scout Troops as well as organizations such as Hospice Care of Middletown, Sojourner’s and Women Enriching Lives are among those that will participate. As soon as we fly into Royal Oak we feel it, and then when we get to talk the kids after the parade, well, thats the greatest feeling in the world.. WMBD-TV Channel 31 will provide the telecast for the parade, which begins at 10:15 a.m. Friday.

An ice carving contest will be held in the Courthouse Plaza and people can assist in decorating street lights throughout Downtown. There will also be choirs performing at opposite ends of the street during the parade. Proceeds go to the Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry.
For the third time, under of the announcer team, all entries will be judged on their best use of the theme – “10 Decades of Christmas Parades”. All participants will receive their parade unit number in an email from the Chamber by Wednesday, Nov. 25. “We’re trying to keep that appeal”. It brings commerce to our local community.
