Get Movin’ Ya Slacker! Microsoft Band 2’s Active Feature
Microsoft doesn’t want anyone to miss a beat in their workout routine and has added some features available to its new Microsoft Band 2. Unlike many flat edged fitness devices, the Microsoft Band 2 is refined and updated, with 11 different fitness sensors to give users the best results you could imagine across all platforms (iOS, Android, and Windows). Microsoft calls out Spotify in its blog post, but you’ll be able to control playback from any music app that connects with your smartphone’s Bluetooth features.
The upgrade to the Microsoft Band can be obtained by anyone who has the Microsoft Band 2 and it is already accessible via download, said tech site Engadget. This implies that users can listen to music via the Microsoft Band from Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play Music. The wrist-worn device can be programmed to remind you to get moving with activity reminders, and enhanced music controls that permit consumers to put into halt, skip, and modify their music streaming selections to match any activity they are searching for.
Besides these two additions, Microsoft is also adding a new Exercise tile, with which you can pick your favourite activity and have its sessions reviewed in the Microsoft Health app.
When you are ready to charge your Band just attach the charging part of the clasp to the magnetic charging port on the stand and then slide the other half of the clasp into the retaining device at the top of the stand. This will leave the Band’s display facing outwards. Microsoft assures users that they can choose time intervals and days to be reminded, even setting periods of time when they want to be notified for something, or when they’re sleeping or driving. It’s also worth mentioning that the package only includes the charging stand, you have to use the cable and obviously the Band 2, which came with your device. “Want reminders to move?.” reads the band’s display in an image. After exercising, the data collected will now be grouped by exercise type on the Microsoft Health app making it easier for the user to see how they’ve performed. If users cannot keep up with all the changes, they can tap the “What’s New Tile” button that will appear automatically on their band when updates are available.
