Ghostbusters director Paul Feig slams Twitter misogynists: “Go f*** yourself”
Adding Weaver to the list leaves Rick Moranis as the only living major cast member from the two original films who hasn’t been brought on yet.
At this point, it is hard to believe there are still secrets left, since the online world already knew that Hudson, Potts, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are making cameos too.
Now, director Paul Feig reveals that Weaver, who appeared in the original film, will also make an appearance in the movie.
The news comes as writer/director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) took to Twitter to lament the many leaks from his film, which just finished shooting last week.
The Ghostbusters reboot, which will also star Thor hunk Chris Hemsworth, is due to hit cinemas next July.
Announcing the news on Twitter on Friday, the filmmaker writes, “Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak, so I’ll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!”
The “Ghosbusters” remake cast includes Kristen Wiig (The Skeleton Twins) as Erin Gilbert, Melissa McCarthy (This Is 40) as Abby Yates, Leslie Jones (Christmas In Compton) as Patty Tolan and Kate McKinnon (Staten Island Summer) as Jill Holztmann.
Meanwhile, The Wrap reported that lately Sigourney Weaver starred in “Exodus: Gods of Kings” and “Chappie”, while she is set to appear in the upcoming three sequel apart from the new “Ghostbusters” movie.
