Giants’ Beckham suspended one game
Their organization hasn’t released a statement.
“I’m a little disappointed in it, to be quite honest”, Rivera said. “We don’t tolerate that here”.
The Josh Norman-Odell Beckham battle was so out of control on Sunday, that at one point Dean Blandino, the NFL’s VP of officiating, called over to MetLife Stadium to remind the officials they had the authority to throw players out of the game.
The NFL on Monday suspended Beckham for Sunday’s game at Minnesota for his conduct against Carolina, when he drew three personal-foul penalties. He wrote a letter to Beckham in which he told the football player that his actions during the game didn’t represent the high sportsmanship standards expected in football today. To be clear, items such as massage rollers, agility ladders, medicine balls, and any equipment to assist the medical and athletic training staffs in treating players are permitted.
“I will defend him as long as I’m able and I told our team that”.
This isn’t the first time Beckham has allowed frustration to get the best of him. But I think he showed the world yesterday that he’s not soft.
“I’ve seen some of the clips, but honestly they’re benign”. It’s possible the officials on the field didn’t see that last hit-it came away from the ball, and there are already a million other things for them to keep their eyes on. “If not, let’s move on”.
Rivera has chosen to stop using the baseball bat because it simply isn’t worth it. “Again, it’s the No Fun League for a reason”.
On Sunday, Odell Beckham Jr. lost his head and may have ultimately cost his team the game, but he’s a 23-year-old athlete whose job is to play with passion and emotion.
Please advise players and personnel that they will be subject to discipline for any violations of the policy set forth above.
Beckham Jr. did indeed receive a one-game suspension from the NFL over his reckless antics in the game, so it seems like some league officials don’t share the same viewpoint as the TNT analyst.
Doesn’t sound like that big of a deal until you consider that Carolina is two wins away from the second 16-0 regular season in National Football League history. “That’s just part of the NFL”, Kalil said. “The NFL is a soap opera”. Sources on both sides believe it could be resolved Wednesday but acknowledge that scheduling conflicts of the individuals involved could push it back to later in the week.
