Gilmore Girls revival confirmed at Netflix
In announcement nearly as huge as Kanye dissing ass play, Netflix said its “Gilmore Girls” revival is officially a go. The American TV series centres around bed-and-breakfast owner Lorelai Gilmore, and her daughter, Rory who both dream of pursuing satisfaction in their love relationships and their careers.
Talk has been swirling for months that Gilmore Girls would be returning to television as a short-form Netflix series. On October 5, 2000, the series debuted on the WB and remained a tent-pole to the network until it was canceled in its seventh season, ending on May 15, 2007 on the CW. The Gilmore Girls quartet is returning intact, with Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop signed to reprise their roles as Like and Emily alongside Bledel and Graham. Amy Sherman-Palladino, the series creator, is set to produce, write and direct with her husband Daniel Palladino.
Netflix did not announce when the “Gilmore Girls” revival would premiere.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the media streaming provider and Warner Bros. confirmed the show’s return after rumors of a revival buzz past year. It remains unclear who among the original cast are returning, apart from those already mentioned.
– The show will be called “Gilmore Girls: Seasons” and consist of four 90-minute episodes with each taking place in a different season over a calendar year. Hence, her return will hopefully take the show back to its former glory. I can’t confirm this. Sherman Palladino shared in 2009 with Entertainment Weekly that the show didn’t end the way that she had envisioned it (although she hadn’t watched the last season herself).
Melissa McCarthy and Milo Ventimiglia found initial fame on the show, as well as Guardians Of The Galaxy star Sean Gunn and Agent Carter’s Chad Michael Murray.
