Gingrich: If asked, I would be Trump’s VP
The four U.S. House members joined their Republican colleagues for a meeting at the Capitol Hill Club.
So far, delegates in only two states – Colorado and ME – are part of the effort, but if others join in, the former presidential candidate, who did best in the GOP primaries after Trump, would get a prime-time speaking slot at the Republican National Convention, which begins Monday, July 18 in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Times characterized the new appearances that as being among several “public tryouts” taking place this week.

The Rogers lawmaker hadn’t spent time with Trump since the start of the campaign.
Trump apparently went after Sasse as well in the closed-door meeting.
Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said in a statement that there was “no discussion of any endorsement” at the meeting.
