Gionee launches Elife E8 in India

Maybe you’ve already decided that you will buy the Gionee Elife E8? A few of the key features of the ELIFE E8 include One dedicated shooting button, 8 MP front camera, magic focus among others. It is being touted by the company to be the first Android smartphone featuring lossless imagery at 3X zoom. We all know that Gionee comes up devices sporting impressive cameras.

On the back, there’s a powerful 23.7-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilization) and 4K video recording, while on the front, there’s a secondary 8-megapixel camera for great selfies and video calls. We shall have to test the camera in different lighting conditions to see the difference in reproduction of images especially in fading light. The display is a 6-inch AMOLED panel with a 2K (2560×1440) resolution which looks sharp and vivid.

The phone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2GHz coupled with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal memory which is non-expandable. During the short time spent on this phablet, we did not face any lag. The battery capacity looks quite good but we shall be able to comment further after detailed testing when we get the device. Along with Biological (Fingerprint) recognition system it also offers dual SIM 4G connectivity. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop based Amigo 3.1 UI which has been stacked with local content to make it more useful for the Indian audience.

Until now, Gionee has been focusing only on the offline retail channel but with the Gionee Elife E8, the company is exploring the e-commerce channel to sell this smartphone, which will be available exclusively on Snapdeal starting October 12.
