Gionee Marathon M5 Plus and M5 Enjoy go on Sale in China
As per Indian currency, this smartphone would cost around Rs 25,567. According to Gionee, the Marathon M5 Plus’ battery retains 90 percent (4500mAh) of its original capacity after 600 charging cycles.
The Marathon M5 Plus is made out of metal, and it sports a physical home button below the display, a button which also doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
Gionee which launched the Marathon M5 Plus smartphone on Monday also launched another smartphone, the Marathon M5 Enjoy at an event held in Dongguan, China. The smartphone is available for purchase from company’s official shopping website.
On the camera front, the 4G-enabled Marathon M5 Plus smartphone has been equipped with 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper. The new Marathon M5 Enjoy also lacks the fingerprint scanner at the back panel. Check out the specs sheet of the Marathon M5 Enjoy smartphone! Other than that, the Mediatek MT6735 chipset with a quad-core CPU will run the show, accompanied by 3GB of RAM and Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has 64Gb of internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card. On the front, there’s a 5 megapixel camera. The device measures 155 x 76 x 9mm and weighs 200 grams. However, Gionee hasn’t shared anything about launching this dual-SIM smartphone in India. It is backed by a 5000mAh Li-Po battery.

William Lu, CEO of Gionee, is confident that the Marathon M5 Plus’s display will be quite responsive even in minus temperatures and the reduced power consumption will lead to better battery life experience.
Gionee hasn’t exactly launched a ton of smartphones this year, but they did release a couple of interesting models.
Gionee also confirmed the Marathon M5 Plus comes with dual charing chips that should make the 5,050 mAh battery charge faster.
