GIPHY CAM Lets You Create Your Own Masterful GIFs
Now Giphy is out to make your everyday a GIF-able moment. The days when people had to Google their favorite character’s best moves and struggle to find that ideal GIF that perfectly expresses their moods are now over, because the Giphy Cam App lets them make a GIF all on their own.
The free Giphy Cam app uses your iPhone’s front-facing or rear camera to record 5-second clips that are automatically looped.
For services that support it, Giphy Cam shares the file as a gif, but for services like Instagram that do not support gifs, it uploads them as looping video. “The next natural step was focusing on creation”.
Now that this wonderful app is out, GIFs can be created in a matter or minute, maybe even seconds for those social media buffs, so the web might as well be prepared for greatness!
Making gifs and linking to them properly has a barrier to entry that used to be too high for my own laziness, but no more! Unlike Instagram or Vine, Giphy Cam does not have a feed within the app or allow users to friend or follow other users. The users can also just save their new gif to the camera roll for local storage.
Wacky creation tools that export seamlessly to messaging apps and social networks have been quite the rage lately.
Using the app, you can record in two ways: either by holding the shutter down for a loop, or by tapping the shutter to shoot five burst-mode shots that will then play as a stop-animation-style loop.
